Environmental Site Assessments

There are typically two phases to an Environmental Site Assessment (ESA). In Phase I, we identify potential environmental hazards and conditions associated with a property. The purpose of a Phase II ESA is to conduct a deeper investigation into any environmental concerns raised in Phase I.

ESAs are performed in accordance with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) No. E1527 in order to satisfy the requirements of the innocent Landowner Defense. During an ESA, available historical records are also reviewed to assess potential offsite impacts.

Phase I ESAs Include

  • Government Records Review

  • Historical Records Review

  • Site Investigation

Phase II ESAs Include

  • Soil sampling Utilizing Geoprobe Technology

  • Groundwater Monitor Well Installation

  • Ground Penetrating Radar

Phase III

  • Investigate Nature and Extent of Contamination
